This Thesis Thursday Cathy interviews Ali Shihab. Ali is studying physiology at the University of Arizona. He originally is from Iraq, but came over to the states in 2009 as a refugee. While in Iraq, Ali was studying in medical school, planning to become a doctor. He needs six years of schooling to be considered worthy as a physician in Iraq. Now, at the U of A, Ali studies cardiovascular and Type II diabetes. After seeing how much sugar can affect the human body he hopes to one day make a change for the better. Later, we hear John Lennon’s Imagine from the self titled album. Ali chose this in hopes of one day living on a completely peaceful earth. Don’t miss this awakening insight inside the mind of a brilliant man and his internal struggles all on The Home Stretch.
