This week’s show is an interview with Shannon Sartin, Co-Founder of Scraps on Scraps.
Scraps on Scraps just got their start in January of 2014 and have recently won the Get Started Tucson competition.
The EPA estimates that 20-30% of all landfill waste is compostable materials. Composting makes sense. But, if you don’t want to compost in your yard, or you don’t have the space…….
Scraps on Scraps does a bi-weekly pick up of compostable materials. They provide a 5 Gallon bucket with lid. You fill up the bucket and leave it out on pick-up day. They pick it up, and leave you a clean bucket. Easy-Peasy!
There is a fee for the pick-up. Learn more about the cost and what you can put in your bucket by listening to the podcast (play button above). Hint, Shannon says “if it grows-it goes”.
Air dates for this program: June 14, 15 & 16 0f 2014
