Show Notes

My name is Renata Vallecillo and I am a pre-med senior majoring in Molecular and Cellular Biology (MCB) and Biochemistry at the University of Arizona. I am currently also working towards a master’s degree in MCB through the Accelerated Master’s Program. I am in the Environmental Health Sciences-Transformative Research Undergraduate Experience (EHS-TRUE) Program within the UA’s Undergraduate Biology Research Program. I work in Dr. Julie Ledford’s lab and my project focuses on determining the role of an enzyme called creatine kinase in asthma using cell and mouse models. When I have free time, I enjoy spending time with friends, hiking, and I play on Scorch, the UA women’s ultimate frisbee team!
