A representative from Tucson Electric Power will explain free and low-cost energy efficiency measures you can use at home to save energy and money. All workshop participants will receive a free kit, valued at $45, containing energy efficiency devices such as CFL light bulbs, a low-flow showerhead, weather stripping, and more. Light refreshments will be provided.

San Pedro River Festival
is a one-day festival celebrating the last free-flowing river of the southwest. The festival will feature bird watching, nature and history exhibits, and information on sustainable farming and ranching. There will also be special tours of private conservation areas that you can sign up for from 7am on. Most of the ecologically richest portions of the San pedro River are on private land and this is a rare opportunity to visit these habitats and see why this area has been designated “one of the last great places!”

Food Biodiversity: Homogeneity and implications for food security

WMG’s Tucson Water Rainwater Harvesting Rebate educational sessions will include a brief tour of water harvesting features on site, an introduction to rainwater harvesting, information about the rebates, and a design process. Please bring a map and / or drawings of your site, with measurements of any impervious surfaces (roof, patio, driveway, street, etc.) you wish to harvest from.
